After reading some of the many rave reviews, I was looking forward to this book. Let me preface this by saying I felt the same about The Poppy War (book 1 of the trilogy). I hate not finishing a book. So with Poppy War I plodded my way all the way through to the end hoping it would come together and be worth my while. It was a poor gamble on my part and I won't bother with the other 2 in the trilogy. I'd hoped Babel would be better and I guess I'm glutton for punishment. I'm almost halfway through and I'm cutting my loses. The premise of the book is interesting. But the characters are 1 dimensional and dull and the story is much the same.
