I had seen trailers for this over a long time and finally thought I'll see what it's all about. Initially, the novelty carried me for a few episodes but once the story line had been established, it became a sitdrama, just telling and re-telling the basic story from slightly different perspectives. By the time the handmaidens were ordered to stone one of their own to death, it was time to press STOP. This would be better placed as a one off, one hour TV film, to tell the sufficiently interesting story and move on to the next project.
