With the exception of Sarah Michelle Geller ,who I don't think is super believable -- same with Patrick Dempsey so far -- the rest of the casting is nuts, especially whoever it is that plays Dexter. He is spot on. 💯
What I love the most is that it is definitely an homage to the original series. The opening sequence, Michael C. Hall doing the voiceovers, the music, the shots, the styleism... It's almost as if you're watching the original show. And it's done well. 💯
Unlike the original series, it's assuming that we already know the backstory, so I feel like it's rushing a little bit to catch up to details; the second and third episode settled in a little bit more and I'm enjoying it. I don't know how complex it's going to get or will be capable of getting, but at minimum it's inspiring me to rewatch the original series. It will be fun to watch the two of them back to back.
Definitely one of the better prequels that has come out. And I don't know about anyone else, but I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I realized Dexter was still alive. I never want to see that character die....
