Another hit for Park Ji-eun! What a gifted screenwriter. Great series but felt ending fizzled out and left audience feeling let down instead of uplifted.
The direction was outstanding from Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won with exception of ending.
Studio Dragons consistently puts out amazing shows and has scored again. The production crew and editors did a great job at bringing it all together. 5/5
Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won were excellent in their roles.
Kim Ji-won was outstanding as she portrayed a more difficult personality type and she did it so well. Even outstanding actresses such as Jun Ji Hyun, Park Min-Young, Chae Soo Bin, or Son Ye-jin, could not have played a better Hae-in than Kim Ji-won except maybe Song Hye-Kyo. Kim carried off the cold indifference exterior, flat affect personality of Hae-in to perfection.
Park Sung-hoon made a great villain and made the audience love to hate him. Would expect a supporting cast award for his villainous portrayal of Yoon Eun-sung.
Other supporting roles that stood out were Moon Tae-yu as Hyun-woos university friend- everyone needs a friend like this. The friend role is often unrecognized but really – where would Hyun-woo have been without him?
Yoon Bo-mi as Hae-in’s secretary- again – where would Hae-in have been without her?
Kwak Dong-yeon as Hong Soo-cheol – over dramatic but lovable in the end
Lee Joo-bin as Cheon Da-hye- mislead, mis-treated and misguided but ultimately chooses love. The audience rooted for their relationship.
While some of the supporting cast roles were over dramatic and needed to turn down the volume on the hysterics, each actor is deserving of accolades for their hard work and great series.
This series was great, doesn’t compare to Crash Landing, the Heirs, Descendants of the Sun, Healer, Suspicious Partners, or Legends of the Blue Sea but by far the best Rom Com of 2024 so far.
