This album is about someone “tortured” in love. You should not expect this album to be a party, dancy and “cute” album. It is depressing as it should be based on the title of the album itself. I found it boring and not so Taylor from the beginning, but then it grows on you -and you understand each words- and then you get the vibe.
For me, this is like her diary. It shows the most vulnerable version of her. “All Too Well” album version. It’s dark and focused more on self-depreciating and self-pity. I understand why some don’t like it. Afterall, it is about depression and anxiety. Who loves those things, right?
It also reflects how fans don't like matty healy for Taylor… people subconsciously feel that to this album’s vibe and then knowing IT IS about him. But Taylor is showing a different side of him that also reflects on how we “will” feel once we understand the whole album itself all those lyrics in it.
It is one of her best albums after Evermore and Folklore. The real question is, why use Joe Alwyn’s group chat as a title album when it is almost entirely about someone else??? Well-played, Taylor.
