Oh wow!! I just finished the last episode and I’m in tears. I never get emotional at movies or shows. The acting is spectacular. The storylines, plural, keep you riveted. Cate Blanchett is at her best! And truthfully, this is the first thing I’ve liked with Sasha Baron Cohen. Kevin Kline’s acting has matured. I want to recommend it to all my friends and family, but it is so deeply intense, I’m not sure they could take it. So I’m recommending it to the public. This is going to be up for awards for sure. A must-watch mini series.

Rosamund Pike is what makes this show worth watching. She is a consummate actress and I recommend everyone should watch any film or series that she graces us with. She has a quality that grows better with time. She will be up there with the likes of academy winner Helen Mirren. I watched this show before I read the endless novel books by Robert Jordan. I liked the show before I read the books. I like Tolkien style fantasy. This show has that appeal, but I felt before I read the books that the casting of Madeleine Madden as Egwene was off. After I read the books, I felt this even more so. I also found out that if you wanted the exact same story as the books, this isn’t it. It is only loosely based on the books which for some gives it an interest of novelty from the classic stories and for others makes it a disappointment. Personally I’d like to see how they will maneuver our favorite characters into this new storyline. So despite the miscasting of Egwene, I hope this series will continue. They do the sets very well and bring the evil creatures to life as I imagined them. The series is worth your time! Just watching Rosamund Pike and the particularly well-cast Lan Mandragoran is worth the price of admission.
