I’m gonna be honest I didn’t like this one. The first Wonder Woman was awe-inspiring and left you on the edge of your seat. This one felt like a cheap attempt at getting more money out of the franchise. The story jumped all over the place and at times it really did give you whiplash. Gal did a wonderful job acting of course but the content of this movie was lacking. It felt cheesy, and it didn’t feel like Wonder Woman. The first movie empowered young girls and women, but (spoiler warning) 1984 painted her as reliant on Steve and (end spoiler) portrayed her sense of justice in a way that wasn’t accurate. I don’t know it just felt really off to me. If I hadn’t seen the first Wonder Woman before watching I probably would have liked it just fine, but it doesn’t hold its own against the first movie.
