Don't get it twisted, if you are in the X-Generation, this one's for you. Top Gun 2 is a heavy handed message piece about growth, maturity, and the duties and responsibilities that the X-Generaton needs to come to grips with in order to take over running the world from the Baby-Boomers, who won't always be around to bail us out. This message is delivered a lot more allegorically than generationally, but if you were a kid growing up watching the first Top Gun, it isn't subtle. I was laughing and crying throughout, which is a testament to good art. Anything that I found cheesy or whatnot was short and understated, but everything that made this movie HELLA DOPE was on center stage. I think I'm gonna have to see it again.
