i just finished watching this movie about a week ago and re-watched it again. i read the reviews but i think that the movie is awesome because it is based on real events.
from the title itself escape from mogadishu which focuses to koreans on how they should escape from mogadishu during that time where everything was a mess and seems that there is no law at that time. even if they are korean diplomats it is still hard for them to escape from that place, they were torn between the goverment and to those people that they call rebels from the goverment. from the title itself it is already showing that the movie is about the koreans point of view and not somali. well, i read somewhere that according to the director they weren't able go to mogadishu because until now it is still close and it is hard to enter one of the reason they can't cast people from somalia. (though i'm not sure if it is true since i haven't done my reaserch about entering somalia) nevertheless they did a good job because even if they film it in morocco and set up everything that could look like mogadishu the movie turns out great. though i don't really know what mogadishu looks like at that time.
there is just one thing i am disappointed of, the CG effect of the dog. i don't like it because it is so clear that it was just CG like resident evil vibe. but the rest are awsome.
but anyway i will still give it 5 star, because it shows how much north and south could sacrifice/do just to leave a foreign country that is in a war just to survive. and actors are great too!
