I don't know and I don't care if this movie is based on fact. Even as a work of fiction, Gangubai is maha entertaining. The movie is all Alia Bhatt. She has given a memorable performance, one of her best. SLB has done a superlative job of directing this movie. Bollywood has been disappointing of late. I cannot remember a good movie made in Bombay. After a long time i've seen such a well-written and well produced movie come out of Bollywood. This is the calibre of movies I wish to see - not masala, not fighting, not cars blowing up. Clean fun.
