This book is powerful. It brought to light incredibly harsh and painful glimpses of being different; of being a black girl in a small New England town. The author’s astonishing insights into mother and daughter relationships as well as father and daughter relationships in this novel is very moving. I loved this book. Look forward to more from this author.
