Having been a long time Sims fan playing every version starting with the original, I find Sims 4 a colossal disappointment. I continued purchasing expansions in the hopes it would improve. It has left me severely disappointed and regretting the substantial financial investment in this game.
Though the graphics are 'improved', the game itself is very cartoonish. So many features we had in previous versions like the world editing tool are gone. You cannot add lots to the town, only work with the preset lots. The old controls to move about the view and turn the screen are gone and now controlled by your mouse wheel. This is something that those with hand troubles will find extremely difficult.
As unstable as Sims 3 is, I am going to swallow my financial loss and chalk it up to lessons learned and go back to that game. As someone else said, it is more realistic in many ways. It is most definitely more enjoyable.
