As someone who is a huge fan of Final Fantasy and action games, this game hits different from the other Souls-like games out there! I'll try to avoid spoiling the game as much as possible, but I want to share my exact thoughts on this game, because I love it so freaking much! The story is simple, but there are several neat ties to the original Final Fantasy 1, as well as some crazy connections to a certain other game in the franchise. The DLC truly shines in that aspect of the game. Some people may think the characters lack depth or whatever, but Jack, along with the other characters you'll meet, have personalities that you just love to see. Jack is so hilarious, and of course the dialogue of everyone is just PERFECT. The gameplay is so fluid, dynamic, and full of clever ways to flesh out each weapon and job's capabilities, allowing for even Basic or Advanced jobs to still hold potential in the Post-Game. For example, after I finished the main game, I eventually returned to White Mage and Dragoon, and still felt like I could handle the enemies and bosses. The customization...Oh my goodness, the CUSTOMIZATION. It is both really overwhelming, yet oddly exciting at the same time? The way the affinity bonuses from equipment can really improve your battle sets is so solid, it makes you feel excited for when you finally come across an item that is EXACTLY what you've been wanting. The right affinities, the right effects, it just...Gah, I could go on FOREVER about the customization, I LOVE IT! Also, if you want a really fun cooperative multiplayer Souls game, THIS IS THE ONE. By teaming up with friends, you can come up with some amazing and creative roles together, and it starts feeling like D&D or, of course, Final Fantasy. You don't gotta do some weird "place a sign" or "invade another person's world" sort of thing to enjoy the game together. You can simply create a room, and set your party members to "Invite Only" and boom, you can get together for the majority of the main game, and almost all of the DLC. There are a few single player story sequences, but besides that, you can pretty much enjoy the game all together. I was able to play all of the main story AND the DLC together with my brother and my online friend (both at the same time, I might add), and we had a BLAST battling everything side by side! I have played nearly 300 hours of this game, and I think I have every right to tell you that this game is one of the best games I've played in my entire life. It's so full of THRILLS and CHAOS! MWAHAHAHAAAH!
