So, like....sure, Fantastic Four 2005 isn't perfect, but I don't think it deserves such hate (all of you guys out there who think this as well...I feel ya!). When this film has little action scenes and sparse dialogue (the dialogue isn't ALL bad....it's just bad in certain instances), it has an abundance of great performances (although I'd argue that Chris Evans is better as Captain America), a good plot, surprisingly good CGI, and it also had humor, which is important in a superhero film so that it doesn't descend too far into self-seriousness.
I went onto Wikipedia the day after I watched this film in December 2022, and it currently garners a 28% approval rating. That took me aback. This film totally doesn't deserve such harsh hatred. I mean, sure, I don't think it's universally disliked like the 2015 reboot was, but I don't think it's worthy of being bad. This film made me so much more excited for the MCU reboot in 2025 than I was before, and that's showing that the 2005 film was good. If it makes you excited for the next film or reboot, then that's a sign that it was a good film. It's how I felt after watching the 2005 film, and although I wouldn't rank it among the best superhero films of all time, it was enjoyable enough for me to not feel like I just watched one of the worst superhero films of all time.
