Arguably the best long-running series EVER. I prefer the later episodes with BJ and Sherman Potter because those characters had more substance than Trapper and Henry. My only gripe is the writers' frequent inconsistencies in the story lines and contradictions. One example is with Radar: originally he smoked cigars and ate meat then in later episodes he had never smoked a cigar before and in one episode he even said he was a vegetarian. Otherwise, brilliant writing with a perfectly balanced blend of comedy, drama, romance and history.

Part fact/part fiction, but a great story of Pappy Boyington. I suspect it would have lasted more than two seasons if the network had not changed nights and put in competition with the then-popular Charlie's Angels.

A beautiful and brilliant sketch of humanity and finding meaning in unexpected places.
