I'm going to be just straight up here and i think a lot of people can agree with me when i say that this movies is a total rip off of the original 1990 version and the novel. Pennywise was never meant to be scary, he was meant to be this loving and funny clown to get kids into the sewer. In the remake of the iconic film they made Pennywise a scary clown that most if not all kids are afraid of which just defeats the whole purpose. Also not to mention that this movie is set in a whole other time period. This movie is set in the 1980's but in the book when the kids are adults they are telling stories from when they were kids in the mid 1950's. Not to mention the fact that they didn,t involve Henry Bowers as much as they should have. Henry's gang played a major role in the shaping of the losers club. Also, might i say that the way Pennywise is defeated in the novel is so much different than in this film. In the novel Bill learns of the Ritual of Chud from Maturin the Turtle and through said ritual, the psychic power of The Losers' Club helps defeat Pennywise. In this film bill just shoots Pennywise in the head with a bolt pistol and only to weaken him.
