The movie is clearly much more than a the torture porn it was precieved as, subverting expectations, remaining meta and fun and even funny at times. The film is well acted by each member of the cast including the child actor. While many complain about the pace I argue it serves to enhance the narrative with moments it heats up and bubbles throughout a slow burn experience. It builds an incredible atmosphere of helplessness or losing of hope depending on the scenes composition or tone, and the story never feels as though it drones on for to long but instead allows for it to ease into itself and take a break from the main conflict to allow the audience to breath in synch with the characters.
