I have just watched the first episode and I have no desire to watch any more--I see no accuracy in the portrayal of nursing.
I am a 40 yr veteran nurse and have worked in critical care for more than 37 years.
The only scene that moved me was when the teacher went to the OR for organ donation and the staff lined the corridors to show their respect. That is accurate.
There is so much wrong with this episode: from the staff blood donation in the ER, declaring brain deathand moving to organ donation on the same 12 hr shift and the organ going to one of the trauma victims, who just happened to be a student on the street, hit by a van. Really???
A nurse is a nurse, is a nurse, etc. He/She starts in ER, ends up as an OB nurse, another transfers her pt to ICU and is conscripted to work there because of short staffing.
And most unbelievable: a paramedic hands over 2 fingers wrapped in gauze and the nurse spends the shift trying to find the person who lost 2 fingers. That also does not look good on paramedic services.
And then, at the end of the day they all go and donate blood.
I was looking for an accurate portrayal of nursing but this series is embarrassing. You really should have done your homework.
