I remember this from the mid-to-late 1980s. It was on the CBN and USA networks. It would be on in the afternoon when I got home from school, then in the 1990s, I had to miss it because I had to work. I bought several episodes from collectors.
There was an episode I remember, but I think it's a Nelson Mandela Effect Experience. The Mystery ace at the end of the show was Howard Hughes. The first song played was Leavin' on a Jet Plane. The contestant, a black man in a dark Navy uniform witrh the rank of "Major", rang in with the correct song title, but not the correct name. He said, "Pontius Pilate!", and everyone started laughing, even the contestant, and Ron Ely couldn't stop for awhile. I'm not sure if that was a real episode or not.
Another thing: Was there ever a contestant named Bill Ware who kept winning, or is that a Nelson Mandela Effect, too. I kept hearing his name mentioned.
The show was a Name That Tune-like game show. The first round showed the contestants pictures and the band played musical clues that went along with them. The second and third rounds didn't have pictures, but just played musical clues. The final round had one picture of a famous person, that started with a baby picture, and musical clues were played.
I was sorry to hear that Ron Ely had a stroke a while back and can't talk.
