The first few episodes started with so much potential and I actually enjoyed the first episodes. However, by the end I could not wait for it to end. The story was very slow moving, the writing atrocious, the acting terrible and the political agendas obvious. I really tried to give this show the benefit of the doubt and tried to keep an open mind, but as with many modern movies, this show was its own worst enemy. Yes, the effects are cool, the music is great and there are attempts to honour the vast and amazing world of Tolkien. Yet none of this was enough to stop this show from being a total disaster and more of an emotional drama than a fantasy action. I love Lord of the Rings, but a series that only had 2 fight scenes and soap drama slowness is just not worthy of anyone's time.
