I'm a mom that probably enjoyed it more than my son. I come from a large family and the sibling relationships were spot on. I could imagine my own acting like Jacob's. The mom had so much energy it made me jealous and the dad was the kind any kid would be lucky to have. Refreshing since many times animated parents are nonexistent or clueless/useless. The art work was unique and the bad guys were over the top. It always had a good message.

Loved and hated, calling it a tear-jerker is off. It was more of a gut-wrencher. I hate crying from a movie and this one had me still crying after the credits were finished. I watched it alone early one morning, when my husband saw me after, he thought I had gotten news my mother or sister had died. Still getting teary-eyed thinking about it while writing this.
