Kedarnath starts out with the good intention of contrasting human divisiveness with the avalanche and onslaught of nature- that leaves matters of religion, socio economic class etc appearing petty and irrelevant in the face of human tragedy and fight for survival.
It’s a great story poorly told with weak characterisation. Debutant Sara Ali Khan as Mandakini attempts to light up the screen with her authorbacked role - but fails to rise to her potential because of poor direction.
Sushant Singh Rajput needs diction and articulation classes as he cannot be understood at most times. He did well in Dhoni so his slide downwards is surprising.
All in all Kedarnath has great cinematography and leaves you feeling it left a lot of money on the table- great potential and opportunity for a stunning Indian Titanic in the backdrop of the awe inspiring Kedarnath -gone unutilized.
