Looove the show so much. It's kinda similar to the pursuit of happyness (Will Smith) but this one was more intense.
** SPOILER ALERT **
Alex (Margaret, who by the way, AMAAAAZING performance all throughout the show), it was very intense for her as she did not have anything nor anyone to help her right from the start, and had to do everything on her own. Well later on, thankful for Nate. I loved Nate, and I hate myself for still liking Sean on the other hand. I think Sean was just in a very bad phase in his life but he was willing to change. Tried to stay out of bartending to avoid temptations. But Alex insisted that he get a double job (well he had to) - and that triggered him to go back to drinking. But you can see that he really did try to move forward. Plus, he was really always there for Alex. Especially the Paula situation. And lastly, I think it was good that Sean acknowledged his faults and shortcomings in the end. Unlike some guys who are in denial and egotistic. I'm not saying he was a good man. He's not. What he did to Alex was way out of hand and nobody deserved that. But I'm just happy to see people who admit to their mistakes and try every possible way to change and to move forward.
Also very glad that despite all the problems that happened all throughout, little Maddy remained a happy little girl.
I loved how Alex takes care of her mom. They both went through the same thing with their own husbands. But glad Alex did not leave her mother despite having too much on her shoulders already at the time.
The character I disliked the most was Alex's father. He was never really there for her. I liked his new wife though. She seemed nice and very welcoming to Alex despite her not being her real daughter. But Alex's dad... siding with Sean instead of his actual daughter... meh. Plus he has seen Sean and his temper towards Alex and take note, losing it IN FRONT OF THEIR DAUGHTER at the dinner table?? And that he told Alex that she is always welcome to stay in their home "always has been" but did not insist on letting Alex stay in their home on the first night they saw each other after the car trouble. I mean he later on regret that but still. How can you say that you've always wanted to spend time with your daughter when you don't (never have) tried.
Lastly, I think Alex lacked showing appreciation towards the people who helped her throughout the series. Never gave anyone a hug except for that time she was eavesdropping Sean and Hank outside their home. I think Regina deserved credits too. And a bit more appreciation. Plus Denise, not even a goodbye? She helped her so much. Although it was her job, but still. And Nate? Omg he gave her a car! But okay I must stop here and read all of your opinions now haha
Anyway, This series is a 10000/10. Soooo hooked. Loved it. Definitely a must watch. And definitely worth my whole day binge-watching the show lol
