I'm watching it now and it doesn't really stand out. It's a singing competition w/contestants masked as avatar digital characters and are judged by how cool, original, over the top their avatars look , including, how well they sing. It's a singing competition with a gimmick -the avatar digital character! Pointless!

This movie was very entertaining, just like when Train to Busain came out, unexpectedly great! Which are the reasons why I keep coming back to watch movies. Wyatt Russell shines here. Don't need his dad this time, he's made a name all his own. If he keeps grabbing these sweet roles, he will be the next big thing. I can't believe I'm saying this but Kudos for J.J. Abrams for producing and giving all the creative control to the director. He finally did a solid after ruining SW lol. I slightly forgive him now with this great zombie-war flick.
