With current world events the way they are it's refreshing to go back to the radical 90's in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2. Everything from the controls and the pro skaters and the music bleeds mid to late 90's vibe. Back when us kids got frustrated trying to skateboard for real we would pop in Tony Hawk and feel like pros. Most of the game has aged well and the updated graphics are top notch.
The aspects that could us some work are few and far between. The create your own skater options lack depth. If your looking to fine tune facial features in order to make a in-game clone of yourself, guess again. Also in with regards to the THPS1 content (I haven't played anything from the sequel yet) the 2 minute time limit on level sessions feels out dated. It makes levels feel so short and seems to create a huge hurdle for those coming back after all these years to shake off the rust or even new players learning the controls for the first time. Personally I think the timer could stay but maybe add practice mode to skate around with no timer, no collectables, no score keeping, just to get a decent feel for it.
Pro Skater 1+2 is a breath of fresh air in a otherwise suffocating 2020. It will bring all those memories of the 90s right to the fore front of your mind or give you a since of what your parent's childhoods were like. Definitely recommend
