Some where in the middle of the movie the Director decided he had had enough. Just in time. Until then the script was moving at the pace of an afternoon tv show. And then they turned a switch, the background score changed, the family and the friends and the community came together. They grieved and cried. When a member dies before his time he leaves a deep void. Its the family that comes together, who grieve, hold hands, to fill up the void. Sometimes they dont, and they break apart.
One thing western society doesnt do easily is bow down to God's will, over life and over death. We see that happening in this movie where people accept his will and acknowledge and forgive. They dont just move on.
