Honestly the writing of the book sounds like it’s made for middle schoolers yet the plot line is a very heavy topic. it just doesn’t mix well together and was ultimately the downfall of the whole book. if you’re going to write about such a serious topic with adult characters, you need developed language to get the story across. but it lacked that. i only continued reading it for the plot so i could see if lily ended up with a certain person (not trying to include spoilers) and i was greatly disappointed. (SPOILER ALERT) just wanted to say that “emerson dory kincaid” is such an ugly name
