John Wells – Google

I've been a Sunrise viewer for many many years, but I'm becoming increasingly irritated by how trivial some of the items have become. As a septuagenarian I would appreciate more international and current affairs news emphasis, as I'm not particularly interested in Givaways, pop star news, and royal gossip. It's clear you are supposed to provide a balance for the viewers, but i do feel you lean a little more towards the trivial rather to the serious.

We Baby Boomers we're done to death with these family fued "dynasty" dynasty sagas when we were in our twenties, and were probably living our own dynamic real life family or love life dramas to be bothered with Knotts Landings or the Colby's or the like. Here then are we dealt with another; domineering matriarch, filandering debauched hubby, devious wayward sons, and mischievous daughter in laws and potential d,I,l's. Dig out the dusty old scripts and scenarios and deal out another to the generations who are sadly new to the machinations of who, what and where that we were thankfully oblivious to at the time. So much so, I find The Perfect Couple sadly intoxicating. So far: 4/5

Mr Patel! What have you done? Basically everything; directed; wrote, and produced the most incredible movie of 2024, in my opinion. "Monkey Man" is certainly not for the feint hearted, or the squeamish, or is that the same thing. This truly is the revenge movie of all revenge movies; a psychological plummet into the seedy dark pits of political corruption, which had me shouting in the cinema at almost every epic confrontation; admittedly it was the 10.00am showing, and there were just two others sharing the experience. But what will happen with a full cinema? I'm positive they'll be gasps and screams like from the participants of a roller coaster. I really hope by the time the word spreads, that they'll be queues around the block to see this fantastic, piece of art! And honestly folks, you know me, I don't dish out praise wantonly. This is Dev Patel like you've never seen him before, and that you'll never ever forget. Please go!go!go! Monkey Man 5/5 +++++++

Oh dear. So far fetched it beggars to be believed. The concept is reasonably interesting; all those fashion designers struggling not to be nazi sympathisers, at the same time endeavouring to put a baguette on the table, while one of them's little sister is being tortured by the Gestapo. I rushed to Google to see if wiki could testify to the facts but found nothing except the bare bones of biographies. Coco Chanel setting off to persuade Sir Winston to come over to the dark side and end the war, when Winston was knighted almost two decades later. Whoever writes this twaddle firstly need to look closely at the numerous historical facts, before they hood wink the generations who take all that they see on the screen as fact.

Good Grief! Did the writer know how the other way this title could be construed? What a Huga-rama Awful Drama. I'm sorry, but I found this movie maudling and cliche, totally unoriginal and predictable. The writing was sentimental, along with the acting. Nothing redeemed it, not even the views of Paris except perhaps the Paris apartment, which looked to be furnished impeccably. On the outset I thought the writing might prove to be witty and acerbic as one might come to expect from a story depicting LGBTQI characters and bohemian sycophants, but on the death of the main absent protagonist everything proceeded to slither into morbidity. What a shame! Okay, the plot may have been old as the hills, but with a deal of artful crafting and the wit of Coward, Good Grief might well have been less of a bad egg. Sorry to all concerned, who worked hard- very hard. 1/5

"All of us Strangers" had me guessing from the start. But that's the figurative me trying to make logic out of abstract. This adaptation from the novel, "Strangers" by Taichi Yamada is a touching platform exploring a gay man's experience as he reveals his true nature to his mother and father, at the same time experiencing closeness with another "person" not previously known. Beatifully and tastefully directed by Andrew Haigh are the representations of sensitive relationships between Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal who equally share the honours, reinforced magnificently by Clair Foy and Jamie Bell.
