I don't understand why this movie is getting such high praise. It certainly had potential to be a great movie. They nailed the casting. Kudos there. The dark nature of the film (felt much like Seven) gave it a distinct feel on Gotham. Action scenes were mosty enjoyable (except for the end). Unfortunately, the plot of this movie is just an overengineered, nonsensical boring film.
The Riddler mystique was interesting but fastly became dull. Even his riddles were lame and had no real significance to where he wanted Batman to go. The grand unveiling of his plan along with the reasoning behind it (given all the buildup that streched almost 3 hours) felt much like the depiction of Bruce Wayne's character throughout the film; Lifeless. Too much of this film didn't make sense and maybe the plot isn't a big deal to some people but when you're going with a crime drama aestetic, it should be captivating to keep you interested. This film doesn't do that. Pattinson was a good Batman though. Just needs a better script.
