A modern classic. Just this year I played through Resident Evil’s 1-6, and each has its pros and cons. But overall I enjoyed Resident Evil 2’s remake the most as it started off terrifying and ended action packed for both Leon’s and Claire’s stories. RE 7 captures all of what made the second game great for me just in fps format which worked fantastic with the premise of the story. I look forward to playing all the dlc and then Village next to see if this revitalization of the series continues at this high caliber.

Honestly wanted to enjoy this game as the story’s premise greatly intrigued me. Four villains killing the justice league! While the boss battles I liked (aside from the final boss), the rest of the game was a lot of wash and repeat missions that had no real depth. Which is unfortunate that it’s this way for a live service model, which I don’t have a problem with if well executed but it leaves a lot to desire here. Just a very mid experience overall with the highlights being the boss battles with the justice league, the graphics and the story.

I was recently beat the metal gear solid franchise so I wanted to see what else Konami had to offer after enjoying it a lot! For my first Castlevania experience I gotta say wow. It is one very difficult retro game at points but the soundtrack is phenomenal. I also admired the unique level design that never seemed repetitive. If you’re looking for a retro game that will be both challenging and rewarding you’ve come to the right place!

Earthbound Beginnings is a strong turn based, random encounter RPG, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t play RPGs much. But I assume like many other thru playing smash bros I never knew what the Earthbound games were like so I wanted to give them a try as I’ve tried most other Nintendo franchises. To keep this review simple and without spoilers, if you are a fan of Nintendo and or of turn based RPGs you will likely enjoy this series. My real only complaint is the random encounter system can get annoying but it was made forever ago so it’s understandable and not game ruining. I look forward to giving the next two Mother/Earthbound entries a try in the future!

Wow The last of us 2 improves in just about every facet from the first. While the first is a classic, naughty dog made a phenomenal successor. To put the story as simply as possible, it shows why revenge is never worth it. You will lose far more than you gain the endeavor. Spoiler time: I just can’t get over Naughty Dog’s incredible storytelling ability. Abby being a new character that kills Joel in the first couple hours of the game making you think you are going to hate her the whole game…. Just to find out playing as her she has an understandable/relatable backstory that makes you fall in love with the character. It was a stunning experience all the way up to the finale where I truly did not know who to root for. In the end I just wish Elle and Abby could’ve come to terms that this revenge chasing is ruining their lives and could team up knowing that the fireflies are back. Elle could’ve gone with Abby and redeemed herself by helping them develop a vaccine that Joel had denied her last game. Just my two cents, please support one of the best developers out there. Thank you Naughty Dog for yet another masterpiece.

From a first time Metroid player: I have been gaming for over 20 years but never had I beaten a Metroid game. So I was like hey, this is the latest and greatest let me jump into the series. Let me warn people it is a punishing game where you will die often. But if you are willing to put in the time to get good at the game it truly is phenomenal. It looks great, the boss fights are unique and meaningful. It is truly an engrossing franchise. Will I be playing through again on a higher difficulty, definitely not. But that’s not because it’s a bad games, it’s because the final boss took me like 2 hours and I’ve got other Nintendo Franchises to try.
