I don't ever leave reviews but this one was so packed with pure, unfiltered cringe that I have to. Spoilers: If the rating doesn't tip you off, it's not the fun kind of cringe.
I could get past it being a nonce movie if it was actually consistently funny throughout the entire duration. But alas, roughly halfway in, they attempt to take the bold turn into romcom territory. The turn is so harsh, so early, and so prolonged that even if you don't think sexually harassing teenagers is weird and f-ed up, it's a slog to get through. The way they characterized him, it felt like they would have made him younger if they could get away with it. Jenny acts overtly predatory and self centered, but instead of that being framed as humorous it's framed as a "cute" and "romantic" situation. There were so many chances to make a *tolerable*, even decent movie out of this, but all of those chances were missed harder than I miss the few moments I walked this Earth still not having seen this torture tape.
I shouldn't need to write an essay about double standards to get across why this is a nasty sewer-soup dumpster-fire sludge-fest, so if you have a crumb of critical thinking skills in that dilapidated noggin of yours, don't waste your cash. I feel like seeing Click just to rinse my eyes and ears of the sticky, repetitive, fecal residue they were violated by.
