Yeah, this movie is pretty bad. It plays loose with the rules of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition, which is the easiest version to play(no critical fails, auto confirm crits, etc). They also make McGuffin items that no sane DM would make. Add in the affirmative action elf, the cgi halflings/gnomes and it manages to make a mockery out of the edition of DND that even DND nerds make fun of.
