Absolutely one of the most entertaining, gripping, and educational as to what Bolshevism was in practice. Ive read this book 3 times and its a mixture of comedy at the farces of the Court, the drama that dominated the CPSU, and the tragedy of the countless victims of Stalin and his magnates’ whims and desires. I appreciate how this book is objective enough to analyze the events of Stalin’s reign through the prism of primary and secondary sources, but playful enough to outright laugh at some mis en scènes.
