I can’t believe all the bad reviews for this phenomenal movie ; it’s not just a great horror movie but it’s a great movie all around Dennis quaid plays a great scumbag , Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley are just beyond excellent I’ve always loved Moore and this Qualley , she was something else, just a great movie; it’s got everything I love ; shock; gore ; intensity ( I’ll have to say there were a few moments I was Peering at the screen through my fingers ) Now I’m a 54 year old happily married woman who was once a cute girl who got more than my fair share of attention just walking down the street - so many of the Dennis quaid lines I’ve heard before - and I’m not saying this in a negative or conceited light -it is what it is / was I’ve always enjoyed the back and forth , the interaction with strangers , the way people treat each other ( now I’m talking in a positive light it’s not all fun and games human beings are indeed incredibly cruel to each other ) but, And I’m not trying to sound full of myself or anything just trying to get a point across , when you look a certain way and people are always reacting positively to something you have had absolutely no control over ( hey , I was born like this ) I can’t imagine on the flip side people who might not be aesthetically pleasing to others and have had to endure other not so nice comments throughout life - it’s something I’ve often thought about - now for me - I was never a big celebrity so to have people kissing your butt then suddenly it goes away - wow that’s gotta be a shock and I loved how this characterized that feeling in a very over the top way - but my point of talking about the way one looks - I thought there were just aspects to this movie that were so dead on - don’t want any spoilers so just suffice to say - it was more then highly entertaining for me to watch - now AS a 54 year old woman - I’m in that - you’re too old to see category - you become pretty invisble but - while having my 20 year old body back is desirable , my 20 year old brain is NOT so I’d never go to these lengths to get these things - but boy was it fun to watch !!! A lot of fun - kudos to whoever made this one - they went all out I mean ALL out lol it was great highly entertaining 5 stars all the way - don’t take life so seriously - it’s all a grand illusion anyway …

When I was young I used to sleep over my Aunts house whose son ( at this time) had died about 7/8 years prior in a tragic car accident - since she went through a grieving period that lasted many years this was still at the height of it - her house was always atmospherically spooky in general but I was young and didn’t quite understand what she was going through but I happened to love horror she always took me to the “ Cookie Monster supermarket “ is what I called it and they rented movies out and my aunt decided to rent a horror movie for me one day and back to her spooky house we went ( I mean at night they would sound off this very disturbing alarm at the fire house it was straight out of a horror movie itself ) the movie she rented that day was the changeling - George c Scotts wife and daughter are killed in a freak car accident and so in HIS own dealings with grief he decides to rent a house and in turn finds himself wrapped up inside of a mystery - there is a strange banging noise and let me tell you that noise in the movie was so haunting as I sat in my aunts and became keenly aware of the ghostly presence of my lost cousin who died too young in his own watery grave I remember being not so much scared as I was entranced by the mysterious noises and other strange goings on that George c Scott was determined to figure out as much as I was fascinated in watching him figure it out. It IS a well acted interesting slow burn of a mystery that you wont regret watching .

I loved this movie it was a total surprise I was on my Amazon prime and this was at the top I never heard of it had absolutely no idea what to expect My 21 year old daughter so oh Cole sprouse is in that and I do remember him from the suite life back in the Hannah Montana days of Disney we watched it I thought it was absolutely adorable very cute movie my daughter did it complain lol so that’s usually a thumbs up for her I’m glad I bought the movie cause I will watch it again definitely I’m an 80s child and it had some really good 80s music in it

You know what this movie reminded me of ? When you’re down the shore and they have those little peep hole things by the ocean that sometimes are free more often then not you need to put a quarter in one, then you peek through and you’re trying so hard to see something “ cool “ “ unique “ or “ different “ but you just can’t cause the hole is just too small and not focused … THAT is this movie Unfocused - I could barely hear what anyone was saying first off - my favorite part was when they dropped acid together cause it was the only thing I could understand- it was so rushed from one scene to the next - meet marriage baby is that Ann Margaret? What’s going on? I really wish it had been slowed down a bit there was something going on but I couldn’t see through the little pin hole I agree with the other reviewers - what a missed opportunity … It had potential but fell flat —and I’m still uncertain what the message was supposed to be - very confusing to say the least and those rave reviews? Either Sofia Coppolas Friends or people on acid themselves - no way can you even begin to call this a cinematic masterpiece - come awwnn

I just watched this after not seeing it For years it is just as hard hitting as it was back then - there’s enough reviews to find out what it’s about ( neo nazi skin head gets arrested wants to change his ways ) there’s scene after scene that takes your breath away but one —when Edward Norton and Elliot Gould are in the kitchen and Ed is yelling at him ;’wow I was just mesmerized ; people talk about the prison scenes which are brutally realistic ( from what I’ve heard fortunately I’ve never been) but that kitchen seem was a nail biter too/ acting is off the charts fantastic and brilliantly filmed …
