Excellent movie, quite thought provoking. Kirsten Dunst is a real standout looking and acting war weary and tired. There is one aspect, at the end, that makes no sense though. The scariest thing, as someone who lives outside the US, is that I can see something similar happening knowing the current US political climate.

As an Australian I found this movie catered to the lowest common denominator, and a little offensive. Ignoring the fact it's basically a Madagascar clone, it's too Americanised. The use of imperial units is bad enough, though forgivable being such a small part, but more suggesting that "Pretty Boy" may have had rabies. Rabies DOES NOT exist in Australia. Rabies has been eradicated in Australia since around the 1950s, therefore nobody would have mistaken the frothing at the mouth as rabies. It was saved by well designed scenery, with the wildlife park being somewhat accurately portrayed for the location Taronga Zoo Sydney and the cable car to the top of the zoo from the ferry terminal, and the Blue Mountains (which I live near) did feel like home. I don't understand including the invasive species such as the cane toads (and actual problem pest) and the wild boars. Also Jackie wouldn't be from a dry area such as portrayed in the movie, but from the tropical northern coastal areas, and salt water estuaries. How could the accents be so poor when using actual Aussie voice actors? Were they directed to not sound like themselves but the ridiculous American versions of Australian? Also the thorny devil is not a venomous animal, it is a common inclusion at hands on reptile displays.
