One of the most powerful drama's I have seen, it's funny, tragic, disturbing, heart warming and heart breaking. Although straight I grew up in the 80's/90's and can remember the AIDS fear and the gay bashing that were prevalent at the time, I enjoyed that the show features the fun side of the time as well as the fear, but also how reckless and hedonistic the gay movement of the era was. Parallels with Covid also hit home with the same fear, deniers and blame game that we are seeing now. TV series rarely get me emotional but when Aids starts ravaging through an engaging and relatable cast of characters the emotional connection is hard to deny. Highly recommended viewing.
