A great kids movie has lots of fun stuff in it for grown-ups. This, though, is not a kid's movie. It's a grown-ups' movie with lots of fun stuff in it for kids. I took my seven-year-old daughter to see it, and we both loved it and laughed a lot. Our fellow moviegoers, however, were mostly high-school girls and young women in their twenties. This movie resonated with them, and the way some of the jokes landed makes me think the high school boys and twenty-something guys of today really need to dial it down a few notches. As much as anything, this movie is a parody of young men and it definitely seemed to hit its target.
