A movie I couldn't look away from in a good way. In the end, it reminds you that there is strength to be found even in the hardest of homes. The characters are deeply flawed. Loving does not come easy to them.
Motherhood for Inez is something she can't walk away from, it is like an intoxicating drug for her and as you watch her journey you feel conflicted about whether it is her calling or her curse. You've watched other dramas with strong single mother figures but this one will be the most engaging and heartbreaking you'll ever see. At times you'll be inspired by her grit to survive and others times you might find yourself ill. The environment is churning the already rocky family unit she establishes in ways that leave you breathless in the end. The closing scene can only be described as mind-boggling, it will make you reexamine and re-feel the film all over again. Ultimately the character of Inez is one of the best portrayals of the power and influence of motherhood, both good and bad. Excellent in so many ways.
