Anne Cranny-Francis

The noir feel takes the film back to the origins of Batman. Robert Pattinson is great in the role, playing Bruce Wayne as emotionally complex and adrift until encountering his opposite/twin in The Riddler (played so well by Paul Dano) and forced to make a choice. The actors were all terrific, particularly Colin Farrell unrecognisable as the mob boss Penguin and Zoe Kravitz’s Cat-woman. Cinematography enchanting, great script and direction.
