I enjoyed the broad strokes of this -- the twisting plot, the intrigue and conspiracy, the pretty Dublin streetscapes. But I had a hard time getting past the awkward dialogue. A distressing amount of it is either awkwardly worded, cumbersome, or overly repetitive.
I also found some of the plot mechanics a little too melodramatic and convenient to be believable.
I generally found the lead actress' performance compelling, but the script does her no favors, forcing her to give variations of the same overwrought speech over and over throughout the series.
I also had issues with the performance of the lead villain. His delivery was overly stilted and monotone, rendering him unconvincing rather than menacing.
Overall, I'd call this a largely watchable series which -- due to many irritating quirks -- falls far short of its very promising premise.
