I think I'm being generous giving it two stars, I think the recreation of the setting is really good, and I like the actors but the writing is abysmal. I heard rumors that the people who were working on it were told to not play the games, but damn I didn't think the plot would be this terrible. All this show has is the name, the name of the characters, and the setting. The plot just isn't there and it's such a disservice to long time fans of the franchise. The show had potential, I don't understad why would you change the story so drastically.

I find the mixed reviews kinda funny ngl. I agree with both good and bad reviews because it is true, the first season was oddly paced however, I'm reading the webcomic (I recommend it) and it's equally as oddly paced. I personally didn't find it a huge problem and I found it a fun watch. It was funny and there were times where it got oddly emotional. Its up to you tbh, because this definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea.
