Season 1 was okay. It held my interest well enough that I wanted to see Season 2. S1 had a deliberate storyline and stayed with it for the entire season. The acting was very good - much credit due there. I like well-done time/dimension-travel shows and this was a fairly unique take on that concept.
Fast-forward to S2. Oops. I should have stopped at S1. The storyline became disjointed and disconnected. It introduced new characters that really didn't fit the story and it morphed into a kind of a Dungeon & Dragons meets Mr. Robot meets Harry Potter meets Twin Peaks meets Ghost. During an all-night vigil, waiting to see the apparition of an interdimensional traveler, one of the main characters gets up, walks out, goes to have his first gay sex experience and returns to the vigil-morning-after. "But why?" I ask. What was the purpose of it? The scene had no real connection to the story. Oh, and I don't want to forget the mind-melding, telepathic Octopus that stars in an underground theater. Nice.
From life after death, NDEs and interdimensional travel, S2 diverges into a parallel story line about a PI in search of girl who's gotten lost in another dimension by playing a mobile app game (which by the way was developed by a guy who simply uses gamers to deliver money-making ideas?????)
Arghhhh!!!...
