I wonder if this show has ever considered using a technical advisor, especially for all of the medical scenes. The consistent inaccuracies, scope of practice violations, and medical-legal issues are horrendous.
Firefighters scowl at the shows tactics, while paramedics laugh at the ridiculousness of the patient care they provide. It seems this show proves that “Hollywood” can continue to produce shows that are so far from reality only non-medical people find it watchable.
The biggest shame is that the actors are actually quite good, but the writing has not provided any research to support their “heroic actions”. Having worked with tv show producers, it is sad to see a potentially great show be laughed at week after week.
Please, please, please hire real paramedics to consult on this show, who can actually discuss protocols and procedures that are allowed in real life.
Respectfully,
35-year paramedic veteran.
