The modern day concepts that was brought out in this movie was exceptional but felt the body within the movie was lacking. This film to me seem to home in on Ally and her success, the movie should have been more for the character Jack, his love for Ally, the anguish that he was going through his fears which seem to scout over in the rehab scene to which I felt Ally was there to look good and not for him and had no concern for what he was going through, what these people have to go through is tragic. Maybe I am Biased but much preferred the 2 movies with Judy Garland / James Mason or Barbara Streisand / Kris Kristofferson, even possibly 1937 version with Janet Gaynor/ Frederick March
