This game is not AAAA! , but it’s not a dumpster fire either. I think it needs some love. It’s not a copycat of Sea of Thieves or Black Flag, it has its own flavor in the pirate genre. It’s a blast to play once you survive the horrible intro once you make your character it's onwards and upwards. It’s a rip-off for the full price, but if you’re a pirate fanatic, you might want to give it a shot with Ubisoft+ subscription as I did and am not in any way regretting! (3* review 2 days in as above) I've been plundering and pillaging for a while now, The story is as thin as a plank, and I expected more from the makers of AC. The sailing and fighting is so immersive, I can almost smell the salt and gunpowder. The best part is the camaraderie, there's always a friendly buccaneer ready to lend a hand (or a hook) when I'm in a tight spot. If they keep adding more content and adventure to this game, it could be a treasure. But knowing Ubisoft, they'll probably abandon ship soon. I'm feeling generous, so I'll give it 4 stars out of 5.
