This movie gave me so much nostalgia with the heart and soul felt throughout Ariel’s voice. Halle isn’t know for acting but I felt she really delivered her role into a new perspective of Ariel. Ignore the haters that want the movie to be EXACTLY THE SAME. Also the idea that Disney is trying to push “wokeness” and inclusivity is insane. You have to purposely be going into the movie upset about the casting. Who cares about COLOR. People are people. I LOVED that Ariel’s sisters were the ethnicity of the seven seas. Melissa McCarthy has truly shown that she can do so much more. Who knew she could sing like THAT?!?! I loved some of the new songs that were added in as well. The costuming is was good for the most part. Example is Vanessa’s lingerie dress is beautiful and gives evil seducing woman. I feel the CGI could’ve been WAY BETTER. Knowing Disney they did not do what they can for this movie which is upsetting. However, there are only a few parts of the movie where you can tell the CGI was glitchy. I’m terms of the movie as a whole. I would 10/10 recommend to go see it. I cried twice and felt my childhood spark was relit by this live action.
