Saw it for the first time August, 2019 and applaud Disney for making a "nice holiday film" that should be repeated every Christmas. It is another retelling of a performance of the nutcracker but also seems to include elements of the land of Oz, and a particular owl that flies in and around a castle. The music varied with the action and the performances of all, were well-played in a fantasy sort of way.
Not a big budget film, but a really nice one that may surprise us, if used at a holiday film, the lesson is in there.
