Great mystery and a compelling view of an alternate or future state of humanity and its existence. Special effects are among best ever I've seen; the subdued light and color emphasize the mystery and adds a nightmarish tone. Its a spell-binding interpretation of the visionary Frank Herbert books. Its a very complex story and I watch each episode at least twice. But I get the feeling the series might not be for everyone.

Interesting story but there are way too many unnecessary sexually explicit scenes and they're repeated over and over for no good reason. I'm just getting too old for this I guess.

The black and white cinematography is exceptional. The story is a bit complex and needs one's attention. It helps to watch the 1999 film with Matt Damon and other first.
