An unexpected take on christianity. Filled with parallels and symbolisms. A movie about the Mother, the son, the father, genesis, the story of mankind, Abel and Cain, the sacrifice and consuming of the body of the son by the people, the father giving a away his son to those who dont deserve him. The distorted human perception of the different roles of those main characters, especially Mary's portrayed with human attachments. Well executed to resemble a dream. The wake up scene of the new eve, the sacrifices of Jennifer Lawrence as Mary, gradually consumed by emotions and reactions through a lense of human tolerance with a limit rather than the most pure and perfect woman. The father portrayed as a self-centered creature, unable to please. Much more in there but basically a huge underlining of the limited human understanding of the divine roles in the grand scheme. Genius exploitation of such a gap in the human understanding!
