This game is pretty good looking at all the standard pokemon games that have been released, besides arceus.
If you haven't played arceus, you're going to love this game in my opinion.
However, having played arceus right beforehand, I have so many complaints.
*removed being able to catch things when not in battle
*the crafting system was removed (being able to craft pokeballs, potions, etc
*no alphas (which I get)
*I could be wrong but I don't thing the pokemon have any different sizes visibly outside of battle like arceus
*you can't manually aim where you throw your pokemon put or at, you have to lock on. In arceus, you hold rt and you "aim down sights" and aim your pokemon. In violet, you tap rt and it just throws your pokemon out immediately.
*in older games and violet, your first pokemon is who you throw out for battles. In arceus you can tap L or R to cycle which pokemon you wanna throw out in real time.
*in this game you go near a pokemon, now you have a minor "lag" from loading into battle. In arceus, if you go near a pokemon you can just run for your life, not HAVE to battle it just cuz you got close.
*I literally froze when I jumped on miraidon, I don't even remember ever lagging or freezing during my whole run through of arceus.
*arceus had "souls like" battles. (You had to dodge the boss and throw incense at them)
*in arceus I had a cool typhlosion kimono, big straw hat, and some futuristic glasses. I looked like a badass ninja robot samurai lol. In violet I look like an 8 year old kid that would push his glasses to his face and say "actually..." before correcting something you've said, that he obviously knows more than you.
All in all, it's a step up from sword. But if I was to guess, I'd guess arceus came after this one. It's a step back from arceus, and personally I just don't get it. I understand thay arceus was a spinoff, but the elements they created were amazing, and I don't see why they reverted so many good things, instead of improving upon them.
